QThe back panel and hearth of our real coal fire have cracked from the heat. Can they be repaired? If not, how much will it cost to replace the pieces and what material would you suggest?
AThe cracks cannot be repaired. It sounds like the hearth and back panel were not suitable for solid fuels.
These pieces have to be specially cut, slabbed and plated.
Using a fuel that is too hot, such as anthracite mixed through the coal which is for industrial use, will also crack these areas
